When Jose and Terri Duran married in 1998, their original intent was to stay in the U.S. for 1-2 years so Jose could learn Terri’s language and culture. However, God had other plans. On October 29, 2000, Iglesia New Song Hispana held their first public service at the facilities of New Song Christian Fellowship. In April of 2003, Iglesia New Song Hispana changed their name to La Casa de mi Padre and moved into their new facility at 318 South Margin St. in Franklin, Tennessee. Now they are a strong congregation of approximately 120 people who are growing together in their knowledge and love of Jesus Christ.
In December of 2006, a transition occurred and Jose’s good friend, Neil Paez became the Senior Pastor of La Casa de mi Padre and the church continues to flourish under the leadership of the Paez family. Jose Duran is currently finishing his studies in University of the Nations in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. In 2008, the Duran family will return to Tennessee to continue planting churches with La Casa de mi Padre Franklin.
